Many varieties of dogs bred in Northern climes greatly resemble the Eskimo (or Esquimaux). All have prick ears, pointed muzzles, and curled tails carried over their backs, but none have quite the same wolf like expression, or the peculiar fur-like coat. Eskimos are closely related to the wolf, and are of great utility to the natives as transport animals. Long distances are covered by Eskimo-dog teams in Labrador, Alaska and elsewhere. The colour of the Eskimo varies from pure white and silvery grey to brown.
