The Harrier is very like the Foxhound in appearance but is smaller, and is used for hunting the hare. In some packs of Harriers the average weight is 50 to 55 lb., while in others it is as much as 70 lbs, these varieties being due to the difference in the nature of the country over which the packs are hunted. The height varies according to the weight. A Harrier should have a long head, heavy bone, round cat like feet, sound hindquarters, with well-bent stifles. His tail should be sickle-shaped, and he should move very freely.
