Though there is only one type of Chow Chow known, there are three distinct colours red, black and cream. This breed has a unique characteristic since it is the only dog in existence with a black mouth and tongue. Probably one of the oldest breeds in the world, it has been known for hundreds of years in China where it still serves many purposes, ranging from protection to transport, from food for coolies to furs for mandarins.
