The Boston Terrier, America's national breed, was evolved in England, its ancestors having been a brindle Bull Terrier and a Bulldog. It is curious that it is remarkably like the French Bulldog, the national dog of France,. The breed is rather rare in England now, but as it is gaining in popularity ' numbers are being imported from America to improve the strain. Many Americans living in England not only own but show their Bostons, the competition being very keen. This dog is a thorough sportsman and very active.
